Pic A Tenerife

Heard "whumpfing" sounds about 3/4 the way up the east side of Pic A Tenerife. Dug a pit and found a layer of hard ice at about 165cm from base. Above and below the ice was an extremely light and dry weak layer. During a compression test both layers fully failed at 4-5 taps from the wrist.
