We observed the crown of avalanche on northern aspect on bottom portion of Baldy Rocks while walking out at the end of the day. Watched skiers ride the big shoot in the Crags and the bottom of runout was very wind effected and icy.
Large convexity on isolated rocky outcrop below Baldy Rocks North.
Wind was gusting heavily near end of day.
Dug several pits at bottom of the Crags with mixed aspects/results. Snowpack was surprisingly shallow. Only 1 of 4 ECTs failed on the January 30 layer and showed propagation. We tested one steep role over/convexity and the slope below failed but did not propagate across slope.
