We went out for a sunny day towards the SE face of Columnar. The wind has had a significant impact on the snow. Conditions changed from fluffy powder to compact wind slab to wind scoured crust within a dozen or so meters. The wind slab seemed cohesive in places and so we stayed away.
There was little wind throughout the day. Some high clouds came in around noon but were soon pushed aside for some beautiful clear skies.
