+1 at the parking lot with light SW winds in the AM. Noted at 870m a total of 175cm exists with the top 20cm being wet and heavy, and then gets powdery underneath. The Dec crust exists down 90cm.
The weather switched around 1:30pm and started raining below 900m. We found 200cm of pow at 1000m with temps sitting around -4 and snowing light to moderately. The pow would set up quickly and made for plenty of stoke and lots of stucks. It snowed on us for the majority of the afternoon until we ran out of gas and made it back down to the trucks.
We didn’t see any obvious signs of instability throughout our ride in the Calazon. However, visibility was limited due to fog and low cloud. We primarily rode the valley bottom and Treeline, and did notice with the warming temps that snow was dropping off tree tops. We did not see any new or recent avalanche activity in the Calazon area; however, on the highway drive (coming from Chetwynd) to the riding area we did see what looked like some size 1 - 1.5 wet-loose just past the pull-out/washrooms at Lemoray on the North-East aspects and some point releases on South aspects.
