Low hazard and good visibility meant we traveled through a lot of terrain today north of Crowsnest. Recent wind means that slopes are either scoured back to the crust or loaded and very stiff, wind slab. This allowed us to get to a lot of places but the quality wasn't very good. We hunted around and found one area of good snow where the crust was down 40 cm. This was in an area sheltered by very large rock walls. There was evidence of large, slab avalanches from during the previous warm, rainy storm but no slabs since. Several loose dry avalanches, or sloughs, from extreme terrain were the only recent signs of avalanches.
