Disappointment at Battleship Lakes

Parked & skinned up from snow line (600m) which meant it was surprising when at 1500m there was still less than 50cm of coverage in the forest. We hoped to get up to some fun powder in the Battleship lakes / Meditation Mountain area but there was so little snow it was unskiable. Bailed at 1500m when we got tired of falling into shoulder deep alder and boulder holes. No snow conditions to report on really, just wanted to let folks know not to bother with this area right now.

The day was much warmer than expected, snow started out dry but started melting a bit by the end of the day. Sun & cloud, very little precip all day, just a couple hours of very very light snow.
