Windy Kahuna

Yukon Field Team, Tuesday 20th February, 2024 4:10PM
Today we skied the Big Kahuna. The eastern face has been sufficiently wind-hammered over the previous days and made for quick travel. Winds were strong from the south through the day, transporting the little snow left onto northerly aspects. The top half of the Big Kahuna face was hard and wind hammered making for low ski quality. Ski quality improved midway down the slope with slightly softer turns to be had. We saw no signs of instability through the day.
