Holy wind Batman!

North Columbia

We did an easy slack country day around Tod Mountain near Sunpeaks today and it was mighty windy. Morning forecast had predicted light winds from the SW but we found them to be moderate to heavy with lots of snow transport going on. Everything south facing was scoured or heavily wind affected and north aspects had a lot of wind loading. Some pockets of the last storm snow were found in the trees and sheltered areas and are bonding quite nicely to the hard slab down about 25 cms. Skiing was highly variable with little patches of softer snow interspersed with terrifyingly hard rime and wind slab.
