The Hoar Demon Strikes

Alex Gosselin, Saturday 5th February, 2022 7:05PM

Remote trigger size 2 while skiing @1600 m on a East aspect around 11am. Suspected layer is surface hoar January 29th. Crown depth is about +/- 50cm. Propagated really easily but did not run really far. Triggered on a opening in the trees just above a convex. Started the day with nice light fluffly powder that turn rapidly into mashed potatoes by 12. Mostly sunny with cloud. Quite warm. Meet another group in the parking which said to have trigger a few storm slab on the face just in front of where we were skiing on a West facing slope around same elevation.
