This week we are on the Northwest Coast working out of Stewart. Today, near Bear Pass, it was snowing lightly with light winds. We found a trace of new snow over a breakable melt-freeze crust at lower elevations and on sunny slopes. Below this, there is 70cm or so of unconsolidated snow, which overlies the March melt-freeze crust. We found no significant results in a snow pit.
Snow conditions were: Crusty, Powder. Weather conditions were: Foggy, Warm. We rode: Mellow slopes, Open trees. Riding quality was ok.
Glide slab avalanches and many glide cracks
