Parsons Peak via Asulkan

We toured up the Asulkan drainage and rappelled into the Hanging Glacier today (skiers right), but climbed back out because we didn’t like the conditions. There was only 15cm powder on an old bed surface (seemed like glacier ice), and we could also see some bare ice. Arrow in photo points to old fracture line, and ice is circled in red. Instead we skied the NE Face of Parsons peak where we had some power sluffing, then dry powder continued down below treeline on true north. We didn’t use ski crampons today, it was mostly breakable on solar aspects. We saw a large pile of debris below the East Face of Catamount Peak that we think was from today (didn’t notice it earlier), suspect size 3. We also noticed a car sized cornice that was cracked and dangling over the skiers left of the Tuzo Couloir.
