Went in to Commonwealth and across the traverse to the west today, and found things to be badly wind affected. There were high winds, particularly around noon, and a lot of transport happening. Some of the fresh wind slab was quite unstable.
Significant areas of the traverse, both east and west of Commonwealth Peak, and even shallow slopes on the north side had slid in last weeks storm. A lot of the slide paths look like the snow had been very wet at the time. There was also a significant slide from the southeast side of Mount Smuts that had come down at the same time and run fully across the valley bottom.
