8812 E Asp 250104

robbiehollander1, Saturday 4th January, 2025 8:00AM
Joined the masses that were out in 8812 bowl on Sunday, Only sign of class 1 info observed was old DL size 1-1.5s on the northern aspect left hand side of the valley in steep terrain while touring towards Balu Pass. Toured up to Balu pass saddle then headed North along the ridge to 8812, skied the East asp of the bowl after digging a quick profile. Snowpack had a thin capping mist crust from the 99% humidity aka cloud that was hanging around throughout the day. but was upright with no signs of instability even near ridge top in wind affected areas. The skiing was not bad with heavy powder in the top 30cm but the capping crust wasn’t effecting the quality of skiing at all.
