Mega tour in the Rutherford today. We saw copious amounts of terrain and no recent avalanches. Lots of slope testing and cornice falls only triggering one small slab . Wind slabs are likely pretty stubborn to trigger at this point. Cornices overhead, sunscreen, and not running out of fuel were the main things on our radar today.
Snow conditions were: Powder. Weather conditions were: Sunny, Warm. We rode: Alpine slopes, Convex slopes, Steep slopes. We avoided: Sunny slopes. Riding quality was good.
Avalache Conditions: Rapid temperature rise to near zero degrees or wet surface snow.
