Northwest Coastal

Rode off of third knoll with a group of four. While traversing skiers right along the top of the lower pitch, we remoted a small windslab from about 4 meters away. Size 1, on the Dec 7th crust. Slab consisted of 10cms of low density snow from the past 24 hours, and another 15cms of denser snow (buried windslab). We rode the lower angle terrain out to valley bottom. On our way back up we experienced numerous whumpfs and shooting cracks in low angle terrain where recent northerly winds have deposited snow.
Snowing lightly on and off throughout the day with very little accumulation. Band of freezing fog hanging in areas BTL.
