At least it wasn’t windy…

info, Wednesday 23rd October, 2024 9:32PM

We travelled to 900m and it was raining all day to that elevation and likely quite a bit higher. We dig a snow profile at 900m and found the snowpack to be 1m deep. The snow surface was wet and the entire snowpack was moist. The Nov 16th crust was 30cm down and the Nov 5th crust was 65cm down. The “skiing” felt risky in the wet, heavy snow. We slowly made our way down the skin track and practiced companion rescue.
