Attempted to guide the scramble route on Murchison yesterday. We found mid boot facets through the forest with easy walking, to wind hammered slopes on west aspect up the initial bowl to 2500m. At the top of the west bowl , about to gain the shoulder, windloading had us pitching out a few ropelengths but no instabilities were encountered. Upon turning to the south facing upper slopes we found facets to ground, waist deep, and decided to descend, with beautiful views on a clear day.
Overall no instabilities of any kind were encountered. Winds were strong from the south east, the forecast north winds did not materialize.
