<p>The field team headed up to the NW shoulder of Taiya peak and also conducted weather station maintenance at yaasum.
1100 Yaafra HS 75cm calm winds. Nil precip. Brocken skies. -3.5c
VF layer 1040m-1120m
Treeline: snow is still low density and skiing well in sheltered areas. Boot pen ~ 35cm.
~1050m (yaasum) 3cm Hst overlies a thin breakable crust.
Bryant lake: light NE winds.
North aspects appear wind loaded in the alpine. We observed a crown line from a size 2 na on a north aspect. Poor visibility limited photos.
Snowpack depth is variable in the alpine, wind eroded terrain can be found lying adjacent to wind loaded terrain with an Hs 150cm - 280cm. Probing for snowpack depth showed lots of hs variability throughout the day. Alpine boot pen varied from 5-30cm.
In the Alpine (chilkoot notch / Taiya shoulder) -6.1c moderate SE winds.
In the afternoon visibility improved for great views at treeline. (See photo)
