Swiss Couloir Attempt

NEM1, Wednesday 22nd January, 2025 7:00AM
Great sunny day out. A few recent sluffs from wind loaded pockets starting at rocky outcrops had occurred on most slopes and all aspects (estiamting less than 12hours old). Wind crusts obvious from just below gaining the glacier. Couloir was breakable crust. Whumpfing from approximately half way up. Quick dig indicated 5-10cm thick wind slab on top (CTE5 RP). Turned back. Snow pack was not reactive when skiing couloir. Below glacier was great skiing. Small sluffs when skiing convex rolls. Photo showing depth of wind slab in couloir.
