Bruins Ridge

sofiaforsman91, Saturday 8th February, 2025 10:38PM

Noticed several slab avalanches out of steep, unsupported and convex terrain to size 2 in hospital and dispatchers bowl. Bruins ridge had ran throughout the storm and recently producing two size 2.5. Decided not to crest the ridge and stayed in supported bowls where skiing was amazing. Test pit in Bruins Bowl (before ridge) found SH down 55 cm and 100 cm producing hard to no results on compression tests. It’s spotty up to size 4, down 100 it’s sitting on a thin crust. Gusts of strong W winds throughout the day with winds labs present in wind exposed terrain above 2200m. Scared of overhead and alpine/anything the wind touched.

Avalanche Conditions

Slab avalanches today or yesterday.
