Burstall Pass

Skied a couple laps up at Burstall Pass today. Despite the parking lot being completely full of cars at 9 am we were the only party up at the pass.
We encountered some rock hard ~20 cm thick wind slab just below the pass that was covered in about 10 cm of fresh snow. This made for some difficult travel right below the crest.
There were some HUGE cornices on the ridge to the north of burstall pass, we guessed up to 10 m high. We stayed well away from lines that were threaded by those!
We rode the mellow tree runs just below the pass. Snow quality was amazing, boot to knee deep blower pow on supportive crust.
