<p>Up Patterson yesterday. Temp crust to around 2000m. We did find the Feb 16th PWL but only in steep solar aspects and observed no whumpfing. Elsewhere 10-30cms of soft snow from summit to valley bottom showing no signs of wind effect and no slab properties at all. Made for fantastic skiing top to bottom maybe with the exception of the top 100m where the midpack was nonexistent.
Temps around -20 in the morning but the sun packed a punch by midday. Moist snow down to 15cms by early afternoon and new crusts beginning to form on our way down.
Multiple small loose dry/sloughs from steep terrain on predominantly southerly aspects, most around 12hrs old but nothing observed directly. 2 larger avalanches of note both northerly aspects. 1 onto the Snowbird glacier, looked like size 2 cornice triggered slab and 1 off the north side of Caldron same type but only size 1.
