Skiied all.elevation bands, on solar aspects Mt Chamberlin. Thin snowpack area, 1m at treeline. Cold in the shade and cold Easterly outflow winds valley bottom and from treeline up, but warm in sheltered sunny places - on steeper south aspects, the surface became moist below treeline, with a thin crust from yesterday. Tricky travel below treeline with very loose facets over a soft crust down 20-30+. Generally no slab below treeline, bur this changed immediately at treeline with widespread old, hard windslabs supporting our weight, and two whoomphs heard. One deep persistent slab out in SE facing alpine terrain (photo), though known to be over a week old. One new small loose dry ran in steep BTL.
