Howson Range ?

ngottlieb, Wednesday 23rd October, 2024 9:33PM

Evidence of a significant storm cycle to size 2.5 possibly Thursday afternoon when the sun came out or Wed/Thurs during the storm and wind! Observed on southwest, through west -- possibly on other aspects as well but those were what we saw. Also large avalanches (to 3) in the new snow starting in north facing terrain, but they looked loose wet, not storm slab. Skiing was phenomenal! We skied powder at ~2300m on north aspect into an excellent corn run down the glacier. Travel was good starting from the car around 9:30am but by the time we skied out, the exit was isothermal. Start early the next two days!
