Ventured further into the park today. Breaking trail up a burn, we experienced a massive crack propagating about 10 metres away from the ski of the second person on the skintrack. Nothing slid though. The crack occured away from a kickturn on a little terrain roll into an unsupported gullylike feature. The crack was about a metre deep down to where we found the surface hoar a little earlier on some shear tests. During the tests, there was no significant slab found though. We didn’t travel much further and skied back down on the slope where we set the skintrack, not venturing into any new terrain on the descent.
Location ca 1800m, south aspect.
