Snowpack
On an off duty drive back from Hailey to Stanley, observed many avalanches North of the pass (see avalanche observation for more details). On a short tour above Smiley Creek, precipitation had fell as rain and moistened the snow surfaces up to 8500'. The top 8-10cm of snow was wet and had already started to form a thin .5cm crust as temperatures dropped with the setting sun.
