On our skin track, near some windloaded snow we experienced woomfing on three consecutive steps, the last of which resulted in cracking in the snow pack. Had this been on a slightly steeper slope it would have slid.
Avalanche
Across the valley, to the south, on the same aspect we were skiing, we saw two avalanches that looked to be the result of cornice breaking in windloaded terrain but it was far away.
