Quick report

Cracking
isolated

No avalanches observed. Drifting snow observed at ridgetops and in exposed locations. Small and short, isolated, shooting cracks; a small cornice broke on a test slope; and fresh, sharp wind lips forming. The new snow was 3 to 6 inches on top of the ice crust, ranging from heavy powder to winded effected. We skied in the Edith Creek drainage, Mazama Ridge Bowl, and just east of Glacier Vista. Winds were moderate gusting strong at ridge top from the south and west with occasional snowfall, and cloudy skies. Temperatures were at or slightly below freezing at the Paradise parking lot. Multiple other ski parties were observed, traveling in the area occasionally on steep avalanche terrain without incident.
