Quick report

We headed for an early trip up to the top of Double Diamond lift. Great ski conditions out there with minimal observable effects from Tuesday/Wednesdays wind storm. With snow in the trees and minimal signs of recent transport, the impacts of that event clearly did not play a big role in this part of the region. Morning fog and clouds clung to the top of the ridge, providing ample longwave radiation to the snow and giving a slightly denser feel to it as we approached the ridge. This could crust up tonight but won’t be too thick. Temps stuck around 30F on the Hwy 2 side but cooled off to the low 20s at the ridge line as mild SE winds blew. We experienced small dry loose sluffs skiing down but observed no other signs of instability.
