Quick report
Did an exploratory tour up to Lake Valhalla. Crossed the bridges in Yodelin and ascended via the north side of Nason Creek. Below 4200' under the tree canopy there is 5-10cm of light, dry snow on an icy, mostly supportable crust. In open areas, conditions were significantly better with 10-15cm of snow covering the crust, however there were still many runnels and deep depressions. Visibility was poor around the lake, but we did get some peek-a-boo views of Lichtenberg and noticed several small dry loose slides below the cliffs. Skiing conditions in the bowl above the lake were excellent, although there are still some small trees and boulders poking through. We noticed wind slabs forming in areas exposed to the wind above 5000'. While descending from the lake, we found open creek holes as high as 4500'. We exited on the south side of Nason Creek and found the log supported snow bridges across the creek were beginning to collapse.

Small dry loose slides on the W face of Lichtenberg
