Quick report
At 4200'n in a meadow NE aspect, below a NW facing ridge, we conducted an ECT. We got ECTN in various layers of storm snow in the upper 20cm of the snowpack. The ECT yielded no results on the JDL or 1/10 crust, but we then did a PST and got (45/100 end, down 65cm on the JDL). There was great skiing in the lower angle trees on W and NW aspects between 4300' and 5000'.

Light East to calm wind. Overcast most of the day but broken sky cover for an hour after 3pm.
Snowpack
At 4000' on a S and SW aspect there was a 2cm thick, breakable sun crust. At 4200' on a predominantly NW slope but our pit on a small mound with a NE aspect in an open meadow we found the JDL 65cm deep. The mid-storm crust was at 53cm. The 1/10 crusts were at 80cm below the snow surface. Rounded grains from the surface down to the 1/10 crusts in between the layers mentioned above. We didn't dig deeper than these layers. The JDL here was 1.5cm thick with pieces of surface hoar still visible to the naked eye up to 6mm as well as smaller fragments down to 1mm.
