Quick report
During the day we observed warm and rollerballs forming on solar aspects by the end of the day with light winds from the west throughout the day. Northern aspects still help cold low density snow. With the group in our AIARE 1 course we observed a strong over weak layer , performed small and long column tests with results suggesting triggering the weak layer is possible and propagation is likely.
Snowpack
We observed 88 cms of settling storm snow from the past week. This was on top of a thin brittle crust with 11cms of weak snow below the crust. Since the identified weak layer was in the top 100 cms of the snowpack we performed a Compression test and received no results. We then performed a Deep Tap Test and received a result of DT25 @106cm with a Sudden planar fracture character below the brittle crust. We did perform an ECT however after receiving no results we pulled on the block and the block remove as if there were sudden planer results below the same crust layer so it is possible received results but did not visually see them. We then performed a Propagation saw test which resulted in PST 46/100 END @ 106 cm
