NW aspect 7,150’ elevation 44.6215, -115.79832 Wet snow, obvious runnels from melt/rain, no signs of instability during travel. Overcast & foggy 95cm total snow depth (see pictures) 32cm wet snow. Fist. (95-63) 2 significant ice crust layers: Knife 1st ice crust 33-41cm Loose layer. Fist. 41-55cm 2nd ice crust 55-61cm Loose underneath to ground 61-95cm. Fist CT: 18@60cm. Broke under the 2nd ice crust. See pictures of the particles at failure interface. Skiing was challenging due to heavy wet conditions & relatively thin snowpack. Some treefall was thinly covered, presumably from the recent wind event.
