Quick report

Went up PH around 2:00pm. Observed ~2–4” of new snow with snowfall rates around ~0.5–1” per hour. On our second lap, skin track was refilling in wind-protected areas, and near the top where winds were stronger it was nearly filled in. Dug a pit at ~9,000’ on a NW aspect. Density profile showed new snow F from ~115 cm to ~85 cm. At the interface with the Feb 10 facet layer, snow transitioned to 4F and almost presented like a ~4 cm crust, though no crusts have been reported above ~8,800’. Below this interface, the faceted layer was 1F from ~81–50 cm, then pencil-hard below that, and back to 1F lower in the pack. CT 24 failed in the new snow at the interface with the Feb 10 facet layer. Snow above was loose and unconsolidated and we did not observe slab formation. ECT performed adjacent to the CT was ECTX (no failure). Observed some small, loose dry sluffs on the descent.
