Quick report
The interesting thing is that we noticed no signs of cracking/instability on the deeper snow areas and only on these previous avalanche paths. New snow accumulation of around 2-3" throughout the day. Overcast, but still had decent visibility up to 3-5 miles. Light wind around 5mph during the day.
Avalanche
Touring up through the Hidden Lake bowl we noticed many large natural avalanches that had likely slid after the storm on Friday. Our group decided to skin up one of the slide paths to search for mellower terrain. We assumed that the slide path would be a safer way to travel because it had already slid. But, we failed to realize that this slide had re-exposed the 12/30 crust and 2-4" of new snow from Sunday was on that crust. That caused us to trigger a D1 size avalanche (30 feet across, ran for ~100ft, 2-4" thick. The avalanche was triggered on a W aspect, around 5000ft.
