Quick report

Limited access in the mountains east of Soldier Creek Road. Where there is enough snow to keep you off the deck (NW-N-NE, middle and upper elevations,) there is a slab sitting on ugly, weak sugary facets.

No obvious signs of instability.

Warm and clear with LgM west winds. Previous rain got up to roughly 7600'.

Snowpack

Surprised by the lack of snow in this area. Drove up to the Couch summit road closure but had to pivot to Wells summit due to a lack of snow on the road past the closure. Roughly 7500' and below lacked a snowpack. NW-N-NE above 7500' had roughly 2' of snow.

On slopes with enough snow to stay off the ground, a 20cm 4F slab is resting on super weak facets (2/8).

West of Soldier Creek Road looks to have enough snow to travel on most aspects. To the east of the Soldier Creek Road, travel was limited to NW-N-NE aspects.
