Quick report
We dug a small pit to the ground (75cm total) on an east facing concavity near the trail. 1cm surface facets were present across most of the surface. The new snow appears to have fallen right side up with increasing hardness to 4F. A compression test revealed that the new snow is not bonded well to a crust that at 26-30cm and produced a Q2 shear at 14 taps. Our group agreed that this will be a concern, especially with the additional heavy snow incoming this week. See the attached snowpit profile for more.
