Quick report

Collapsing
isolated

Intermittent snowfall, collected about 4-5 inches on the road by the time we got back to the car. No wind. Some clearing throughout the day. Overcast mostly. We experienced one very large/loud whoomph dropping into the earliest road shot on our second lap (skied the same run twice, so third skier on the slope). It collapsed right when the skier went over a rollover. No cracking or slide occurred, luckily. This likely was collapsing of the solstice layer, but we didn’t dig or investigate.

Avalanche

5-6 fairly large (D1-2) wet loose slides, came off the ridge and down onto the road leaving up to 10’ of debris on the road. This would be super large for wet loose, but we saw no crowns and did see numerous smaller loose slides that came together. The debris piles were large enough that we parked the sled and skinned after crossing just a few. Looked at least 1 day old, maybe more.
