Quick report
At lower elevations the snow was frozen. Above 5000 ft the ski quality changed and we enjoyed some good turns in a couple inches of soft snow.
Avalanche
We started skinning up Little Switzerland around noon. The clouds from the morning had completely dissipated and the sun was warming South facing slopes quickly. We noticed a few rollerballs near rocks. We were not getting any entrainment when pulling with pole baskets on the snow surface. Around 12:30 we watched a wet loose release from the rocks on the steepest section of the slope. It entertained the top couple inches of snow and ran about 400 feet. We decided to re route.
