Skinned up the Silver Fir route at Snoqualmie, and veered off into the trees near to top of the peak. After exiting the ski trail, almost every step on the skis was accompanied by shooting cracks and minor collapsing of the snow under foot. Additionally, I observed a small block completely l fracture after sticking my pole into the pile of snow.
