We came across this avalanche as we ascended the ridge from the Mill Creek side. It appeared to be a natural but could have been triggered from the ridge. The snow off the flanks was very wind loaded. This was a wind slab and possibly failed on facets but we did not approach the crown. On other NW aspects at 9800' we observed facets below a thin sun crust. That could have possibly played into this.
