Quick report
Observed around a foot plus of settled new snow above 8,000 feet at Togwotee Pass; it looks like this storm favored the Tetons and Togwotee similarly, with higher precip amounts on the west side of the Tetons (neat rex block!). The most relevant observation for hunters or skiers is an elk carcass with a grizzly nearby about a quarter mile up the Angle Mountain trail marked on the map below.
There's certainly enough snow to ride in areas along the Pass and Targhee as well as Togwotee, so if you're getting out on the sticks already (or surf stick), exercise normal precautions, wear the proper gear, avoid wind-loaded areas, and think light-as-a-feather thoughts. The first big storm of the year always reminds me to dust off my gear (and beacon skills), make sure they're both functional and prepare for a long winter ahead.

The primary front passing later in the afternoon through evening tonight made for some visibility of coverage later in the day. Winds ranged light to moderate from the west/southwest. Dry weather but cold temps throughout the weekend and into next week.
