Many avalanches observed today 1/11 on East to NE facing slopes alongside the Snake Creek snowmobile road, these were remotely triggered by the snowcat grooming the road as reported in the grooming report on the SnowUT website. They released above and below the road, averaged ~16" deep, failing on a 1 cm breakable thermal crust from before the January storms. The lower half of the new snow above the crust was 4F hardness and the upper new snow was fist hardness. Snow below the crust was all F to 4F facets as expected.
