Partner got off planned route ( north ridge) and descended into steep north facing terrain triggering slide but was able to ski out to side of slide.

Skier triggered, no one caught. North aspect 9400’. Wind slab D1 12-14 inch thick, 50 ft wide. Ran on hard melt freeze crust, new/old snow interface.
