Toured up from 5300' in about 9" of recent light snow. No signs of much recent wind. Low overcast much of the day. The only cracking was the overnight 3-4"isolated under my skis. No noise from the snow today. Dug a pit at 6300' on a west face in an isolated clearing within the trees. Pit depth about 45" . Summary: 90" SH...CT1&1 @4" (new surface snow); CT13 &15@23" (had energy, worrisome layer); Other layers @18", 30", 34", and 44" (thick melt-freeze crust at this level). The snow skied amazing once again. Given the layer a couple of feet into the pack I enjoyed WSW and WNW lines in the trees sticking mostly to <30 degree slopes, with some shorter exposures a bit steeper. Normal sluffing. On the way down the road I noticed some tree bombs making their way down the road banks...
