Quick report

Cracking
isolated

We climbed up to the choke in Left gully. We found a 10" firm slab on top of loose snow. This didn't move at all. However, there was about 10" of fresh light snow in top, and near the choke, it became denser. We stopped there as we thought this could become a weak slab problem upslope, and indeed, a skier above us (still at the choke) made a turn the generated a crack and a slab measuring half the width of the couloir. This was mostly light snow, so nobody fell from.this, but this obviously could become a danger if the new snow would condense and bound.
