Snow was soft at the Virginia Lakes TH at 0900 this morning likely not reaching freezing temperatures overnight. Some sinking and punchiness on ski track was experienced, boot weight was not supported by surface snow. Rollerballs seen on multiple slopes as well as new rock fall sign on an east facing gully at approximately 11,000'. Runnels were observed on many lower elevation slopes below Black Mountain, Olson & South Peak. Sun crust and icy surfaces were found approaching the saddle dividing the Virginia Lakes and Green Creek drainages. Wind was gusting from the south between 10-20 mph. Riding on lower angle east face slopes (11,200' +/-) snow was a consistent corn layer.
