No signs of instability. Sugary and faceted snow on the surface of all aspects. Small (3”) wind slabs in isolated locations that took significant stomping force to show any signs of cracking. Dug at 6900’ on S aspect, ECTN14 down 10cm in crust/facet interfaces in upper snowpack. 4” F hardness snow on a sun crust. Rime Crust was 7” down. Faceting snow between the crusts. This will be a concern for future loading and made for variable riding on S facing slopes back to the canyon, while dodging previous rollerballs and frozen tree bombs. At 15:00 snowpack below 5400’ (S aspect) was just starting to soften from the beautiful sun and warmth today. Snow on N aspects had the rime crust about 5” down and offered decent riding in sheltered areas.
