Just shy of two feet of new snow was observed in the last 24 hours. Instability within the storm snow was very apparent down 4-6 inches. Shooting cracks were widespread with shallow remote triggers happening on slopes steeper than 35°. Natural D1 dry loose avalanches were actively occurring on slopes steeper than 35°. New snow was extremely low density and still uncohesive wich made it difficult to judge how well new snow was bonding with wind damaged surfaces below.
Small shooting cracks were observed on slopes less than 30°. Long shooting cracks with remote failures observed on terrain features steeper than 30° all of these occurring within the storm snow, not at the interface.Weather

Found 22 inches of new snow atop pencil to knife hard wind board. Very sensitive instability was observed within the storm snow 4-6 inches below the surface.
