Group of 10 skiers. Weather conditions to start the day were better than expected w high overcast and good visibility. Storm came in as the day went w 1-2cms /hour beginning around 1pm. Visibility deteriorated and tree skiing in the afternoon was incredible. 9am: Took advantage of good visibility and skinned up above Asulkan Hut to 2300m. Noted wind scoured snow and rocks barely covered on ridges. Avoided glacier travel. Incredible run down Young’s-Pterodactyl between Asulkan hut and Pterodactyl Mtn. No signs of instability from skier traffic. Some minor natural sluffing on north facing 40+ degree slope into Young’s-Pterodactyl. Overnighted at the hut - extreme Northerly winds. Wind made snowfall accumulation calculation difficult at the hut, but in the trees on previous days ski track showed up to 30cms.
